As we fully appreciate the opening of spring, join Liz Sutton for a workshop combining core concepts of positive psychology with a power yoga practice. Positive psychology is the science of what helps individuals and communities thrive, and provides tangible skills that you can bring off the mat to support your health, habits, relationships, and more.
This two-hour workshop will combine a heated practice, mini-lectures on concepts like optimism and positive emotions, and both individual and small group reflection. By mixing conceptual learning, journaling, and asana, you will have the opportunity to immediately put positive psychology concepts into practice mentally, emotionally, and physically. Please bring a yoga mat, journal, and pen for this workshop. Worksheets and additional resources will be provided during and following the workshop.
Liz has nearly 20 years’ experience creating programs and experiences where folks have the space to grow and thrive. A 2019 Masters of Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) graduate from the University of Pennsylvania, Liz currently serves as an assistant instructor for two MAPP classes, Introduction of Positive Interventions and Humanities and Human Flourishing, and serves as a trainer for the Penn Resilience Program. In her “9 to 5,” she serves as Associate Director of Alumni and Volunteer Engagement at Heights Philadelphia, a comprehensive non-profit working for social and economic mobility for Philly’s black and brown, first generation, and low income students.
